Transferring Subs
This article covers how to move subscriptions between different assets.
Subscriptions can be moved from one asset to another. They can only be moved when the original covered device is being replaced. Customers cannot move a single subscription back and forth in an attempt to circumvent the system. You will need the asset IDs (PCIDs) for the currently covered device and the replacement device in order to move the subscription.
Transferring Subscriptions
Before proceeding with moving the subscriptions in PCRT make sure the technicians have already or have scheduled to install the programs related to the subscription onto the new device.
Visit the Subscriptions page in PCRT. Search for the subscription you wish to move by entering identifying information in the Search text field. When you’ve located the subscription, click the folded sheet labeled History to view the Subscription History page.
On the Subscription History page, verify the PCID matches the currently covered device. If it does, click the blue Edit button. When the Edit subscription page loads, your cursor should automatically appear in the Primary Customer ID# text field. In this text field, enter the new PCID for the subscription.
Leave the other fields and information the same. Click the Submit button at the bottom of the page. You’ll return to the Subscription History page. Verify the subscription has been transferred to the correct asset by clicking the PCID #.
Finally, on each asset create an asset note that states the subscription has been moved. Use the following templates:
- Sub moved from PCID#### to PCID####- [Initials]
- Example: sub move from PCID 12345 to PCID 23456- YMB
