Article formerly titled "Setup Epson TM-H6000V Receipt Printer and Configuring Edge for Town of Hookerton Utilities program"

Setup IE .ocx extensions

  1. Grab the folder from another computer or open it if it already exists: C:\Logics\eagle
  2. Run 64win7regViewer.bat as administrator

    1. this installs the IE plugin that lets Edge auto print receipts and read the check scanner

Enable Internet Explorer mode in Edge

This is required for their bill collection utility to work in Edge

  1. Open Edge
  2. Go to edge://settings/defaultbrowser in the address bar
  3. Change "Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode" to "Allow"
  4. Restart Edge
  5. Verify "Reload in Internet Explorer mode" is present in the 3 dot menu in Edge

Install Printer Software and configure

  1. Install Epson Advanced Printer Driver 5 if not already installed (get from Epson website)

    1. Add the receipt printer and endorse printer, uncheck the third default-checked item
    2. Name the receipt printer RECEIPTOR and the endorse printer ENDORSE
    3. Select the appropriate connection method - USB or ethernet

      1. if Ethernet, click "Set to Printer" and you will be shown all the IP receipt printers on the network
      2. Use utility to set a static IP for the printer
    4. Save the printer and test print, a receipt should print

Test configuration

Have an employee go into the Utilities bookmark in Edge and do a test receipt reprint and a mock check endorsement

Receipt reprint:

  1. If you don't have a banner or extension icon that says you’re in IE mode, click the 3 dots in Edge and "reload in Internet Explorer mode" (if you don't have that option, see the IE mode section above)
  2. Login
  3. Click Collections
  4. Click the most recent CC batch toward the bottom
  5. Click the "L" icon in the top left
  6. Click any recent transaction
  7. Click "RePrint" at the bottom (yellow button)

Endorse check:

  1. Get an account number to test with - an employee can help you get one. It will be something like 20083811 95, for example. If they don’t know how to find one, do the following:

    1. On the main screen of Utilities, on the right side, search for a test person (we were using Ruth Almaraz). Change the search mode to "Name" and "contains" and put in their first name
    2. Find the test person in the list and copy their account number. Pay attention to the 2 digit number (ie 95) after the longer account number
  2. Go to Collections
  3. Click the cash register icon in the top left
  4. Enter cashier number (Ruby is 19, for example - just ask the employee)
  5. Paste account number, TAB, type the extra 2 digits (ie 95), TAB, TAB
  6. Under amount type 1.00, TAB
  7. Click apply
  8. Click Add Tender
  9. Change Check method to Check at counter
  10. Enter check number 1234
  11. Click Apply or Add

    1. It should prompt you for a check
    2. Feed the check or the little green slip they should have on hand (probably under one of the receipt printers)
    3. Do not skip this step because if you don't feed a check or something through, it hangs up the printer (for printing and endorsing) since the printer is sitting there expecting a check in the feeder
