Device gets flagged in GSX
GSX will sometimes flag a device for a repair. You will see the device get flagged after you submit the repair. When the device gets flagged that means the device must be mailed into Apple. The repair will not be able to be completed in house. Flagging is random and does not happen often. It does not mean there is anything wrong with the device. It is just Apple’s auditing system.
After a device gets flagged
Once the device is flagged it is going to remain flagged. There is no way to get it removed. The cx has a couple of options.
- They can send in their device into Apple and have the repair done.
- They can also just pick up the device and refuse the repair.
Let the cx know that the device is going to stay flagged. As long as they go to an Apple authorized location the device will need to be mailed in to a repair center. If they want to have the repair done let them know the turnaround time. It can be an extra three business days due to the mailing. If they authorize a send off then start the mail in process the same day. If they refuse the repair, close it out in GSX and mark the PCRT cart appropriately.
