Computers for the Auto Store Group (and possibly others) use a piece of software called MonyMaker.

Procedure

General Info

The following stores have their own local installations of MonyMaker:

• Greenville
• Farmville

The following stores do not have their own local MonyMaker installations and instead use Remote Desktop to connect to GV main location:

• New Bern
• Greenville North
• Wilson

The following stores have access to all MonyMaker instances:

• Key West Financial

Joe at Comsoft:

For computers that just need a Remote Desktop installation; you can either copy a Remote Desktop config file from an existing computer at that location or set up anew:

Server Prep for locations that use RDP:

Locations that are not hosting their own server/database will need to make a remote connection to the main server (either Farmville, or Greenville).

• Login to Auto Store Server from RemoteCare page
• Navigate to Domain Users and Groups
• Add a new user in the same format as others: <location><incremented#> such as farmville1, greenvillen2, garner2, etc.
  • Set full name to Auto Store of <location> <incremented#>
  • Set password to autostore<location><incremented#>: for user farmville1, use PW autostorefarmville1
  • Set password never expires
  • Set user cannot change password
  • Set member of Remote Desktop Users
• Done

Computer Setup

For local setups (not connecting via RDP to a server)

Local setups require MonyMaker to be installed on each computer.

• Map two drives:
  • S: map to the MonyMaker share from the local server (ex. \SERVER\MonyMaker)
  • Y: map to the Images folder inside of the MonyMaker share from the local server (ex. \SERVER\MonyMaker\Images)
• Install MonyMaker
  • Run the latest MonyMaker setup from the server share (S:\updates\monymaker#####\setup.exe)
  • If prompted for a choice on what features to install, unselect “Components for Server installation” and make sure that “Components for Workstation installation” is selected.

For remote setups

Remote MonyMaker setups first require a VPN tunnel to be setup and configured. This is outside the scope of this documentation- however, the VPN should already be configured at the router level. If it is not, contact the NetCare manager.

• Connect to 192.168.1.20 via RDP
• Use username and pw from server prep
• Remember credentials
• Verify you can open MonyMaker

For all setups

• You may have to choose a workstation ID- Ask Jesse or Brad about this
• Verify correct printer for store location shows in Windows printers page
• Login to MonyMaker (un FRANK pw FRANK) and set printer settings
  • Go to Settings
  • Go to Printer Setup
  • All printer options should be the printer you chose from Windows printer page
• Verify printing works by doing a vehicle search and printing a generic sales sheet or some other general document for any vehicle
  • Go to Sales
  • Go to Inventory
  • Double-click any vehicle from the stock list
  • Go to Documents
  • Choose a document that does not have sensitive information on it- something like the “Deal Jacket Label” would work
  • Click “Print Selected Document” and verify that the document prints
• Done
