How to Check If Your device has AppleCare+

Support Article | University PC Care

AppleCare+ provides extended warranty coverage and accidental damage protection for your Apple device — but it’s not always easy to remember if your device is covered.

Whether you're preparing for a repair or just checking your status, this guide will show you how to verify if your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or other Apple product has active AppleCare+ coverage.

Method 1: Use Apple's Warranty Checker

  1. Find your device’s serial number
    • On iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > General > About
    • On Mac: Click the Apple Menu > About This Mac
    • On Apple Watch: Open the Watch app > General > About
    • On AirPods: Look on the case or go to Bluetooth settings on your iPhone
  2. Visit Apple’s Coverage Check
  3. Enter the serial number and the captcha code
  4. Click Continue

You'll see your AppleCare+ status, including:

  • Warranty expiration date
  • Coverage type (Limited Warranty or AppleCare+)
  • What’s included (hardware, phone support, accidental damage)

Method 2: Check in Your Apple ID Account

If your device is signed into your Apple ID:

  1. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and sign in
  2. Scroll down to Devices
  3. Click your device to view warranty details

This works for all Apple devices linked to your Apple ID — including AirPods, Apple Watch, and accessories.

Method 3: Use the Apple Support App

  1. Download the Apple Support app from the App Store
  2. Open the app and tap on your device
  3. Tap Device Details
  4. Your AppleCare+ status will be listed under Coverage Information

Didn’t Purchase AppleCare+ Yet?

If your device is less than 60 days old, you may still be eligible to purchase AppleCare+:
